Signed (lower right): "F.B.". This nicely rendered miniature scene depicts a classical nude woman in repose. It was executed in soft colors and displays wonderful detail on her features. It is mounted in a circular, celluloid frame with chased gold mounts and a gold and mother-of-pearl inlaid design on the back, depicting a horn, lute and flowers. The frame displays some separation from shrinkage. See also: D0374.
