L. Hjorth (Bornholm, Denmark, 1859-1982) Impressed marks on base: stag, 109 and L. Hjorth. L. Hjorth founded this small pottery studio in 1859 and his grandson Erik Hjorth (1906-82) later took it over. This footed open bowl features a terracotta ground with lug handles. The bowl is decorated with stylized overlapping leaf borders; the sides with clusters of fruit intersected by a floral sprigs.
