Baron Francois-Joseph Bosio (French, 1768-1845)
Signed on the right edge of the base, "Bosio". An important sculptor, Napoleon I commissioned him to make the bas-reliefs for the column of the Place Vendôme. King Louis XVIII made him a court sculptor, and Charles X bestowed the title baron on him. Freestanding figure representing Henry IV as an young boy. Missing his sword blade. This sculpture was extremely popular during the 19th century.
